Fairbairn Ranch

Fairbairn Ranch’s 22 acres of award-winning Syrah are rooted in the Redvine sandy loam soil unique to Mendocino County.  This fabled ranch is located on the southeastern bench lands of the Russian River watershed’s Sanel Valley. Viticulturist Jerry Yates planted Fairbairn Ranch in 1986, and later helped ranch owners Joe and Julie Golden transition from organic farming practices to Biodynamic® certification in 1994, making it one of California’s oldest Biodynamic ranches. Fairbairn’s 20,000 vines rise gently along a northwesterly slope and annually produce an average of 70 tons of this popular Rhone varietal.
